Description:
Amieira was an old parish in the municipality of Portel, in the district of Évora.
In 2011, the locality registered 362 inhabitants and an area of 98.36 km², values that help to frame the dimension of the old territory.
Amieira corresponded to the village that gave the headquarters of the former administrative territory, still maintaining historical and identity value in the local memory.
It had as a orago São Romão. The area indicated in the heraldic base is 93.2 km². The coat of arms and the flag help to preserve the historical memory and identity associated with this former territory.
