Description:
Bensafrim was an old parish in the municipality of Lagos, in the district of Faro.
In 2011, the locality registered 1,530 inhabitants and an area of 78.35 km², values that help to frame the dimension of the old territory.
Bensafrim corresponded to the village that gave the headquarters of the former administrative territory, still maintaining historical and identity value in the local memory. The area indicated in the heraldic base is 78.46 km². The coat of arms and the flag help to preserve the historical memory and identity associated with this former territory.
