Description:
Rio Torto was an old parish in the municipality of Gouveia, in the district of Guarda.
In 2011, the locality registered 463 inhabitants and an area of 8.55 km², values that help to frame the dimension of the old territory.
The relationship with the water, the river or the surrounding landscape helps to mark the memory and the local identity. The natural surroundings and the landscape of the territory are central elements in the way this land is recognized.
It was a patron saint of São Domingos. The area indicated in the heraldic base is 8.55 km². The coat of arms and the flag help to preserve the historical memory and identity associated with this former territory.
