Description:
Arganil is a Portuguese municipality in the district of Coimbra, located in a mountainous and valley area that profoundly marks its identity. The municipality preserves a strong relationship with the natural landscape, with the historical memory of the Beira Serra region, and with ways of life linked to the central interior.
The mountainous surroundings, the local heritage, and the connection with the Alva River help define the municipality's unique image. The municipal heraldry symbolically reflects this historical and territorial memory.
The municipal holiday is celebrated on September 7th. The area indicated in the heraldic base is 328 km².
